President Donald Trump announced plans in mid-March to launch coronavirus testing sites with the help of major retailers such as Walmart, Target, Rite Aid, and CVS. As of April 9, Walgreens had one drive-thru testing site running and 15 preparing to open; CVS had three; Walmart had two; Rite Aid had one.

Almost all of those locations are hospitals or public health organizations. I only saw one CVS on that list and none of the other retail pharmacies that have reported that they have locations open.

So one of the fastest rollouts of new technology in history, if not the fastest, isn't quite happening on the timeline originally proposed by a politician and you're somehow surprised by this?

Per the comments above, there are facilities in operation, just not a lot. Sounds to me like they're not that far behind schedule. Pretty damn impressive, actually.

This is how rollouts work. You get a few production units in operation, out in the real world, and watch them with a microscope. Identify any problems in the product/process, take out or replace what isn't working, test the changes for a little bit and when you have the model you want to be in production on a large scale, you go with it.

What you apparently want to see is wide scale testing NOW! that's being implemented in an unpolished way which will inevitably lead to errors in efficiency, accuracy, contamination, etc., which you would then also blame on the president personally.

He has the "best people" .

If he was unsure re fulfillment, then he shouldn't have opened his pie hole and said what he said.

How come South Korea and Germany were capable of doing this 4 months ago?
