I don't think many people feel bad for them, and the fact that these celebrities continue to show off and preen on social media shows how brain dead they are (and their devoted fans who follow every second of their social media feeds). This pandemic showed how shallow many of them are, their narcissism and constant need to be the center of attention which coronavirus took away.
Sadly though once the pandemic dies down and things go back to normal, the blind worship of these celebrities will continue as before, and society will go back to looking down on those in our society who are truly important (grocery store workers, gas station attendants, restaurant cooks/servers, so on and so on).
It reminds me of that incident where a former TV sitcom actor was 'shamed' by someone on social media for bagging groceries. Not only did I find the person that took the picture to shame him despicable, I also found ridiculous how other celebrities were jumping to offer him jobs in the entertainment industry as if working in a grocery store was somehow 'beneath' him.
I do however respect celebrities who have given money and time to help out during the pandemic.
Large mansion in a gated community with an in house gym, swimming pool, theater room, all the pay television and internet video subscription services, prepared meals delivered ready for heating up, and a home property so large one could jog laps around it to exercise if they wish. Meanwhile their current or former fans can barely afford any pay tv or streaming services, if they can afford it at all. They’re stuck in homes less than half the size of the celebrity mansion. They’re not protected by high fences, gates, and private security companies. If they can afford delivery it’s from a restaurant and not healthy at all. They’re worried about their mortgage, rent, vehicle payments, medical bills, and what luxury expenses they can shut off to conserve money. Celebrities can have their shopping done for them. Poor people can try to have discount department stores and supermarkets shop for them but so many are trying this now that orders are either getting canceled or delivery pushed back for weeks.
