Democratic hijinx like this don't make it easy for doctors to prescribe:
"At the hospital, Whitsett learned that the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, under Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, had issued a state order prohibiting the use of hydroxychloroquine. Though that order was retracted several days later, at the time, Whitsett struggled to get her hands on the medication."
Potentially deadly but after taken billions of times by millions of people, it hasn't killed yet...in contrast with covid-19.
The leftists won’t acknowledge this. It could save 1,000 and kill 4, and they’d jump up and down saying “the drug is a killer!” They just can’t stand that something Trump touted as offering real hope is proving to save lives. (Just when I thought they’d sunk as low as possible, they actually would withhold a drug that saves people in order to keep Trump from looking good. The gov of MI is a prime example.)
Unproven and deadly drug? It’s been around and widely used since the 1950s. The only reason you and other leftists are continuing to discredit the drug is because Trump said it could be helpful.
Somewhere in there is science and testing. Lest we forget !
Good for her. Common side effects when using this medicine, as many people know. Its been around a while, and its good it worked for her.
Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate (HCQ) is essentially a less toxic derivative of Chloroquine (CQ) achieved by adding a hydroxyl group. HCQ is more widely available because Plaquenil (trade name) is used to treat autoimmune disorders such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.
CQ is still cheaper and thus readily available in socialized medical countries/states; if you aren’t pregnant, they can treat you with CQ, although far less chance of toxicity with HCQ (although if you are self administering fish tank cleaner you will still kill yourself).
The actress and singer offered an update on her and her husband's condition more than a month after they both tested positive, and explained the origins of her "Hip Hop Hooray" remix and how it's being used to raise money for relief efforts.
Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks were two of the first Hollywood stars to reveal publicly that they had tested positive for the coronavirus, sharing their diagnosis over a month ago.
Since then, they have offered numerous updates as they recovered while isolated in Australia, where they had traveled for work, and returned home to the U.S. While Hanks hosted a remote edition of Saturday Night Live just days ago, Wilson spoke to CBS This Morning host Gayle King on Tuesday's edition of the show, opening up about how she contracted COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, as well as what her experience was like while she was sick and how she's trying to help in the fight against the global pandemic.
Wilson said that as she came down with the disease, she was "very tired, extremely achy, felt uncomfortable, didn't want to be touched," had a fever that reached 102 degrees by day nine, got chills and lost her sense of taste and smell.
Hanks, she said, didn't have as high of a fever and didn't lose his sense of taste and smell.
Wilson added that she was given the controversial drug chloroquine, saying she was not sure if it worked or if it was just time for her fever to break, as that's what happened after she was given the drug. Still, she cautioned that she experienced "extreme side effects" after taking chloroquine including being "completely nauseous," having vertigo, and her muscles becoming very weak.
And? For many of us, we do NOT live and breathe following "entertainers" and their lives. We have much MORE important things to do with our time!
This should be moved to the "Entertainment forum. It is NEITHER "politics and other controversies"!
I know many people are enamored of the Hanks' particularly since Tom is considered one of the 'good' guys in Hollyweird.
I am not one of those people as their situation only further highlights the vast divide in privilege between the rich and famous and the rest of the peons like us.
It's fascinating how they seemed to be immediately tested despite there being rationing of these kits in Australia at the time. And now Rita wants to talk about being treated experimentally with a drug that wasn't even widely publicized at the time?
Fascinating to see all these celebrities and their kind grandstanding on social media about getting tested for or being positive for covid-19 as if getting it is like a badge of honor these days.

Until the blind test are completed, the effectiveness on Covid 19 is unknown. It helps some and not others. At what stage into Covid 19 is it given? From what I've been reading, that matters. And the overall health and age of the patient.
Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Until the blind test are completed, nobody really knows. The medical community will decide, not fans of the POTUS.

Yep, if hydroxychloroquine saved 10 million people and 1 dumb democrat takes fish tank cleaner and dies from it, the rabid media will claim "the drug is a killer"

Like it or hate it, the following is only my opinion:
