I also did not support the protest in Lansing in the way that it transpired. I do think that some of her measures are a bit draconian, like being able to use a canoe but not a small power boat or not allowing lawn companies to mow grass commercially, even though one guy can come and mow a lawn and practice social distancing all day long while saving his small business, but I think there are better ways to stage a protest than to cause gridlock in the capital.

As I said, I did not vote for her on principle and that was well before any of this happened.
If it takes gridlock throughout the whole state, that's what should be done. She simply cannot do what she has done. Especially with an accent like that.

It is a police state when the police respond to that call and harass the neighbor but then ignore the snitch for wasting public resources

Anybody in Michigan spreading grass seed now needs to go to a psychiatrist -- lol........

People fighting for stupid things to prove they can.

If you think this is anything more than political posturing you are sadly mistaken.

The three states where Trump is encouraging citizens to break the law and defy social distancing orders, inciting them to rally against the states’ safety measures ---which are intended to stop the coronavirus spread--- are Minnesota, Michigan and Virginia. These are considered battlegrounds in the presidential campaign.

Every one of us knows the answers to these questions: "Why does Trump encourage illegal and dangerous acts? Why is Trump putting millions of people in danger of COVID19? Why is Trump fomenting violence AGAIN? Why is Trump driving a wedge between governors and the federal government? Why is Trump tweeting protests of 'stay at home orders'?

For Votes.

Shocking POTUS tweets yesterday: “LIBERATE MINNESOTA†and then, “LIBERATE MICHIGAN†and then, “LIBERATE VIRGINIA, and save your great 2nd Amendment. It is under siege!â€

More campaigning and politicization and weaponization of our ONGOING public health and national security crisis is the only take from this inept pretender. Trump's ONLY concern is keeping the job he fails to do! He places America in peril every day he occupies the office he blatantly and dangerously disrespects.

Quote:
It’s unclear why Trump seems to be siding with the protesters given that the states in question have imposed restrictions that follow the recommendations laid out by Trump’s White House coronavirus task force last month that go by the name “The President’s Coronavirus Guidelines For America.â€

When the guidelines were released, Trump urged all Americans to follow them for the sake of the country.
“Our future is in our own hands, and the choices and sacrifices we make will determine the fate of this virus and, really, the fate of our victory. We will have a great victory. We have no other choice,†he said on March 30. “Every one of us has a role to play in winning this war. Every citizen, family, and business can make the difference in stopping the virus. This is our shared patriotic duty.â€

Trump foments resistance to Democratic-imposed shutdowns, but some Republican governors are also wary of moving too fast.

They can protest the guidelines that indicate a 14 day downward trajectory that were approved by Trump, Michigan has a ways to go before they reopen anything. Trump is egging on protestors against his own polices, we are in truly weird territory.

The scene outside the Michigan State Capitol was like one of those apocalypse horror films - a bunch of brain dead zombies out walking the streets of a near deserted city. Truly frightening.

Just because it came out of his mouth doesn't mean it's his policy. The man has no policy, just a troll's desire to incite division between factions in what's supposed to be the country of which he is the president.

The KGB. We have millions of people shaming those who buck the orders or yes some are even calling the police. In the Soviet Union people used to turn in their family and neighbors for offenses against the state too. Are we ready as a nation to be a socialist dictatorship? Some of the preconditions seem to be being met.
