I'm not sure what the point is to test a community isolated to an island when critical personnel can't get the tests.

This^^^ Thinking that we should, or even can, test every American just shows how bad our scientific and math education really is in this country. Containment of the virus has failed. Antibody tests let us know how close we are to herd immunity.

We will never have close to complete immunity until we have a vaccine. Until then we should not be testing people in isolation on an island, that makes no sense.

I got one, easily. I don't live on that private island (live in Miami Beach). I just signed up, and got an appt the next day. Boom they're taking my blood. I was negative btw.

Also, I asked for a regular covid test, even though I had no symptoms nor was exposed to someone who had it. They didn't hesitate, and took out those nasal swabs and tickled my brain.

Point is, it's easy to get tested, if you want it. It's not just something the wealthy are getting. Everyday people, like me, can as well.

I see that Miami is offering that but most still require several steps just for a nasal swab including a recommendation from a physician.
