Over three trillion dollars spent, over million Iraqis killed, over 2 million Iraqis displaced, over 4,000 US soldiers killed, tens of thousands more injured - all to invade a country that never attacked us. When will we stop meddling in other countries' affairs?

After Saddam attacked our Ally , Kuwait, we had to invade Iraq. Yes, I think it was a good idea

This was an end to a cease fire that was signed in 1991, not a new action, but a continuation

No, bryan61, attacking Iraq was a bad idea to the extreme. If it was a good idea it would have been settled by now with Bush's approval rating going over 50%. By the way, the other Iraq War from 1991 that you really seem to be referring to was also a bad idea.

Heck yeah it was a great idea!

Otherwise the smoking gun could've been a Mushroom Cloud!

Seriously, it's a good thing we secured all those stockpiles of WMD's before Saddam could sell them to all those terrorists that were in Iraq before we invaded!

When? Never.

Most of the people don't want this war...not even those fighting it. The only people that vocally want this war are people that don't have anything at risk...except perhaps their MONEY.

Horrible idea from the get-go. Wish we would quit being the world's police, and instead focus our resources (money, manpower) on domestic issues instead.

Well, I'd put it this way - even if you think that the war was a good idea in theory, its implementation and costs to the country are outrageously disproportionate to whatever could have been gained. It's like having a vulgar tattoo on your wrist that you want to get rid of, so you jam your entire arm into a shredder.

Yes, the tattoo is gone. But...

You got it right on the head. I think the freeing of millions of people from a ruthless dictator, that would not only put people in human meat grinders, but gas his own popluation with Saran Nerve gas a good idea. The administration biffed it up as far as I am concerned, we never went in with the "shock and Awe" we should have, We continue to play politics with our soldiers which is driving up the cost of the war. Remove the politics and let our soldiers get the damn job done and you would see less money spent there.
