There were protests in battleground states across the country demanding that states reopen their economies. We've been repeatedly warned against reopening the economy too early by the President's own professionals. Governors have been hesitant to reopen their economies without sufficient testing to insure against a new outbreak.
NPR investigators reveal that the protests are being orchestrated by conservative organizations most notably one organization named Freedom Works. They are Koch backed organizations, pretty much the same organizations that created the Tea Party.
The president's own professionals have signed onto the three-phase "opening" process. It's a relatively safe way to ease back into this and save the country from complete collapse. We cannot afford to remain completely closed any longer.

The Kochs aren't "conservatives" in the sense that you think, they're libertarians, and globalists at that. They would think nothing of outsourcing US jobs to less expensive labor markets in developing countries. It's a global economy, after all... no?

Are you sitting down?
I agree with you about the Kochs.
I've mentioned more than once that the corporate socialists have very cleverly incorporated their anti union pro corporate deregulation message into the conservative message. Conservatives should listen better to people like George Will.
As far as the Koch brothers are concerned, if you thinking of buying property in a state where they do business, testing the ground water should go well beyond the usual test for bacteria.

As far as NPR, uber-liberal, with an agenda.
That's the point being made.
Doesn't matter who reports it, the federal government has issued guidelines --- any state after a 14 day period that shows a decline in cases can phase in opening up.
None of the areas protesters chose to protest against met the federal guidelines.
The protesters were acting against the federal guidelines of social distancing and they were choosing to interfere with the ability of some first responders to do their jobs.
If Trump was an adult, he would have not posted emotionally charged 'liberate' tweets, he would have addressed the issue like an adult.
It is not a coincidence that after the first protests, others have popped up. Trump seemed to support the protests, and so fired up other communities.
These folks are not protesting the lack of phasing in of the federal guidelines, or just the economy opening up, they are protesting they can't do what they want to do while they are home from work.
The point is these protests are not organically 'grown' in their communities...they are mined by conservative groups to try and create political discord.
It's not right when Anti-Fa does it -- it's not right when Proud Boys do it.
Can't stop it, but it is good to know where the source is, why it seems to be gaining strength etc.
No conservative group is protesting in Charleston SC that Boeing is not reopening up as McMasters announces the beach and retail stores are to be opened in the state.
Why? Because it has zero bull **** about the real economy and it is all about the show.
The show must go on, with Trump our circus leader........contradicting his policies for political gain.
Many states, red and blue, are planning to embark on Phase1.
Other states have yet to peak.
High density ares where millions are dependent on public transportation face incremental challenges.
My husband, age 73, has commuted to work 1-2 days a week. Most days he is the only passenger on a multi car train. One day there were a whopping 3 passengers, each in their own train car. With the exception of a construction crew in the midst of a major renovation, he and a guard are the only people in the 35 story office building. Most people can and do work from home.
