As it becomes apparent that the lockdown is lasting longer than expected American ingenuity and innovation is starting to kick in. My community in North Carolina originally offered the regular Club/restaurant menu as takeout. The latest communication from the club offers new menus adapted to take out and also themed.
We now have “Tasty Tuesday” along with other theme nights. The meals are more suitable for take out than before ( rack of ribs for one). The local American Legion post is helping a veteran who owns a well known Italian restaurant by assisting with curbside service. Our volunteers realize the importance of our local businesses and their importance to the community in which we live . You won’t see any celebrities here just regular people helping their neighbors through tough times. And I have only related a small portion of what all Americans are doing to help their neighbors. As this lockdown drags on there will be more good ideas and solutions.

Here in Austin TX our Fashion Week was canceled, leaving a lot of seamstresses and designers out of work. They created a mask business! For $10 you receive a mask made by a local designer. We ordered five already and they are GREAT! They came in two days! It’s keeping them busy, and doing the folks here a great service. Masks are hard to find!
