I've sadly been aware that, unlike her more honest colleague, Dr Fauci, Dr. Birx is a dye-in-the-wool Trump lackey of the first order who is willing to tow the Republican party line to the Georgia border if she has to to keep herself on Trump's good side. And that's apparently what she did this afternoon, giving a comment that is so unbelievably dumb it has to actually be read (or better listened to on YouTube) to be believed. A reporter asked her a question referencing fellow Georgia Republican governor Brian Kemp's order to allow massage parlors, tattoo shops, and hairdressers to open--specifically how would such businesses, which require owner and client to be right on top of each other, practice social distancing. Here's her astounding response:

“I don’t know how, but people are very creative. So if there’s a way that people can social distance, and do those things, then they can do those things.” she answered--trying, I'm sure, not to break into a fit of gut-busting belly-laughter.

So the first question that pops into your mind is, "Did she actually say that? Then after your shell-shock clears after 5 minutes or so, you manage to wonder, "How on earth will a barber practice social distancing cutting a person's hair? Will they go to Amazon to search for someone who sells 6-foot-long scissors and combs? Or robots programmed to cut hair for the barber while he guides it with a remote control?"

Birx has missed her calling. She would have made a great stand-up comic.

You mean so I don't snooze through tomorrow's comic-fest in the press briefing room?

Clearly you just can't stand seeing strong women in positions of authority.

If she weren't white, I'd also call you racist.
