Presumably the Iranians will get radio warnings and a shot across the bow before their crew are murdered.
They got radio warnings last week during the incident in question, and did not initially respond. Next time, I do not know if they get radio warnings or not, but they have permission to deep six the perpetrators, if they try it again.
This is to avoid another hostage situation like what happened under Obama. The Iranian Navy seized a U.S. boat and took the crew hostage. Obama eventually paid Iran off with BILLIONS in cash!
I'm all for avoiding conflict and all, but the Iranians have been playing games like this for years, long before Trump. It's time for the Navy to slap back, at least on the occasion. That part of the world doesn't appear to respect you unless you display some power. They don't seem to value pacifism like people in the west try to do.
