....the "right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
Are people willing to give up on our Constitution due to the virus panic?

Following Monday’s protest at the state Capitol where demonstrators defied Gov. Gavin Newsom’s orders banning large gatherings, the California Highway Patrol says it will no longer issue permits for events at any state properties, including the Capitol.
The government can impose restrictions on the time, place, and manner of peaceful assembly, provided that constitutional safeguards are met. The 'manner' would presumably include requirements for social distancing.

That's why, for example, Anti-Trump protesters are required to only assemble in designated areas well away from the venue he's appearing at. Frankly, the same thing happened during Vietnam protests back in the day.

But that's not what CHP is doing. They are prohibiting gatherings on all state property, which is property owned by the citizens of CA.

I suppose the current protesters could disregard the order and get arrested like they did back in the 60's, but I'm also thinkin' jail really isn't the place you want to be these days. Guess it depends on how committed to cause you are.

Yes, this virus overall is very unconstitutional and extremely invasive.
So I'd say go grab your guns and kill it.
