Probably did, New York has almost 21,000 deaths and Florida is still just under 1,000. Considering Florida has a higher population than New York, that is extremely significant.

Hopefully, the sun and warmer temps will start to kill the virus in New York and across the nothern hemisphere.

NYC has the highest population density in the US. Most people use public transportation to commute. This includes people from suburban NYC, northern and central NJ and southern Ct.

`
Population density, lack thereof, matters.

How people commute matters.

Screening was superficial at all US international airports authorized to receive international flights. One might recall how understaffed these airports were for screening purposes causing the masses to be jammed like sardines in a can for 4-5-6-7 hours awaiting their turn to have their temperature taken.

How many of these inbound passengers acquired the infection during their return flight or while waiting to be tested?

How many of these inbound passengers had been infected but were not yet symptomatic and spread the virus? How many were asymptomatic and spread the virus?

There was no process in place to track these inbound arrivals once they cleared the health check.

Covid-19 is affecting alot of men. Black men have obesity/overweight rates similar to White men while Black women are leading the pack in terms of obesity. I would say that homelessness, heart problems (Black men deal with alot of stress-related illnesses), and undiagnosed health issues (many men, regardless of ethnicity, don't go to the doctor in the first place, unless it's an emergency).

Blacks are a high percentage of the cases in this country. However, explain Italy and Spain, which have fewer Blacks.

Probably because it’s down under and NYC is a hub for international travelers.

25% of NYC’s population is black.

The population has a disproportionate percentage of people who are higher risk due to obesity, diabetes, asthma, heart disease, etc.

Poor people of any race/ ethnicity are more likely to live in multi- generational housing. Young people are more likely to be asymptomatic and infectious.

The ultra- Orthodox communities in Brooklyn, suburban NYC and NJ were hit hard too, as most refused to isolate and continued to gather in the streets, at weddings and funerals. Israel has a similar challenge in these communities, too. When you have a family of 10-12-14 etc living in relatively tiny spaces, it is challenging to contain anything. Saw a similar dynamic with Measles in these communities.

Russia has 4 deaths per million. Mexico 8. Compared to NY state at 1000.
Most people in Russia and Mexico are too poor to travel within their own country, let alone outside their country.

Like China, I don’t believe Russia’s numbers. Mexico is a coin toss.
