The “Green River Killer” will face the coronavirus pandemic behind bars, along with most of Washington’s prison population.
In a narrow 5-4 vote, the state’s Supreme Court ruled that a large chunk of inmates shouldn’t be released because of the pandemic. The vote came after a lawsuit was filed that called for the release of about two-thirds of Washington’s prison population. The lawsuit claimed that inmates aren’t able to control their safety from the virus while in lockdown https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/n...A5J9kdfxF7H0Io ( MY OP so someone wanted to a serial killer to go free what can go wrong!??
Even if the vote had passed, serial killers would not be released. LOL It would be mostly drug offenders and other menial law breakers, ALL murderers would still have to remain in prison.

From the article and other ones I have seen on this vote many murders would have indeed been released.

Don't worry. CNN would have dedicated an entire week's broadcast on how it was Trump's fault.

Hint: the premise of this thread is false, as is most of the fake news in right wing echo chambers
4 people on the WA Supreme Court did not vote to release a serial killer into society.
And what is your source for that?
I haven't read the opinion itself (I'm still looking for a link), but everything I'm reading says that he was a part of the petitioning group that the narrow ruling prevented from being released.
For instance:
Quote:
The motion to release Washington inmates was denied in a tight 5-4 ruling made Thursday. If it was passed, two thirds of the state’s inmates could have been released, KIRO Radio reported before the ruling. Anyone over 50 years old could have been applicable. Ridgway, who is now 71, would have fit into this group.
Additionally, anyone with an underlying health condition or anyone with 18 months or less left on their sentence would have also been applicable.
Ridgway was convicted in 2003 of murdering 49 women in Washington State in the early 1980s. While not proven, he has claimed he killed as many as 80 women. Before the recent confessions of Samuel Little, who has confessed to nearly 100 killings, he was thought to be America’s most prolific murderer.
Now, I'm still searching for the actual case text to review for myself, but I haven't found anything to support your contention
