He never takes any responsibility for himself when he makes a mistake. He doubles down on the crazy every.single.time. If he had that capacity then his mistakes wouldn't be that big of a problem. He would defer to others instead of this magical thinking he does when he claims he has superior abilities.
He has since said he was speaking sarcastically when he made those suggestions. So anyone out there trying to spin this as he didn't say what he said is behind the excuse curve. The White House does damage control by saying he didn't say what he said. Then he comes along with the "owning the libs" excuse every.single.time. It's so predictable I'm surprised the people who support him and can stand to watch him haven't picked up on that pattern.
I wonder if OP knows that this entire video actually makes what Trump said even worse because Bryan was specific in his description.

It's the equivalent of saying Fabreze removes odors from clothes/other fabrics and the air therefore we need to see if ingesting/injecting Fabreze could remove the odors from flatulence.

He was talking about UV light in the body and extrapolated to disinfectants.
He's not a scientist. We got it. We know he talks too much. Still better than anything else out there by a mile.
Nobody said Trump brought up disinfectants out of the blue. We all know Bill Bryan was talking about disinfectants. But NOT talking about injecting them into your damn body! Of course they are testing bleach, isopropyl alchohol, UV light and many other things to kill virus ON SURFACES. Trump just asked a stupid question - is there any way we could inject these and clean things out? Then of course, he later said he was just joking, which is a transparent lie.
He asked if they were LOOKING at doing something SIMILAR inside the body by injection.
But it's only a stupid question if you've never heard of Ultraviolet Irradiation and you also assume that "something like that" literally meant Lysol or Clorox.
Are you unaware he is now saying he made those statements sarcastically?

If you take things in their proper context, you need to watch Bill Bryan. He is the Science and Technology Director for Homeland Security. Below is the video for the entire press conference. Skip ahead to minute 19 of the video when he speaks and watch the entire 7-8 minutes in its context.
What you will hear about are the various tests that they are conducting regarding the coronavirus. Sunlight and UV light have the best direct effect on the virus.
You will also hear – FROM HIM – that they are testing disinfectants that are readily available, which included bleach and isopropyl alcohol.
Trump comes to the podium afterwards and is commenting on what Mr. Bryan had presented, in which he mentioned disinfectants – which is what everyone is talking about. There's also a short section around the 49 minute mark when a reporter asked him about it.
I just think it's disgusting to purposely skew what's true for political purposes when we should be using all of our efforts to nullify the effects of the virus.
We have to understand that Trump can do no right for some people. If he doesn't heed the scientists - he's terrible. Here, he listens to what the scientists are saying and makes comments - and he is taken out of context, and he is terrible.
