That Chinese bus study convinced me months ago on the value of masks for MY protection even when our public officials were lying to us, saying they didn't help. I knew then it wasn't true. Your parents absolutely MUST wear masks when going out - the best they can find.

I sure as heck don't want to be completely unprotected inhaling air into which possibly contagious people have exhaled. Before I got the better Level 3 masks (4 layers), I've worn two 3-layer surgical masks at a time. I've seen health care workers wear an N95 with a surgical mask over the N95.

I have both 3M N95's and Level 3 surgical masks - which have four layers of filtration. We are not terribly infected in my area, but I always wear a surgical mask and gloves when going to the store or any public establishment. If contagion around here gets really bad, I'll wear the N95 and goggles.

Those protections DO work - regardless of the misinformation. Why else do frontline workers need them?

The Asians know the value of masks. One of my favorite posts on the subject:
I have one KN95 mask that is good but not for the whole day of work like I got it for. Surgical mask nose pieces rub up too much against my nose and are uncomfortable. I wore one once when I had to have gallbladder surgery and forced not to eat to roughly two days. The paitent in the other bed had French fries and I got annoyed of the smell while I am sitting here hungry... The non medical cloth masks are the least abrassive to my ears so I wear those to work and at stores. But too many in AZ don't wear anything.

Don't believe me....why did Colorado revise their numbers down?

And just in case you don't remember (or just don't care), the governor of CO is a DEM.....

Run along skippy....
If Colorado was not following CDC guidelines for COVID-19 deaths, then someone filling them out cannot read. The guidelines do not require an advanced degree to understand.

A look at all cause death rates since COVID-19 came on the scene shows that deaths from the disease are probably significantly under reported, including in CO.

Australia and New Zealand are doing quite well against COVID-19, and they do have influenza vaccine programs.

Azithromycin can cause an EKG change similar to what the chloroquines do: prolonged QT interval, and the risk is greater in older patients. Combining two drugs that can both have the same adverse effect may not be a good idea. There was optimism about the combo at first, but so far the studies are not supportive. Another fly in the ointment is that the virus itself causes adverse cardiac effects.

sorry I do not buy this....they've been using the combo of these two drugs on Lupus and malaria patients for 30 years?
What "combo" are you talking about?

Yes, the adverse effects of the chloroquines have been known for years, and for most patients they are not a problem.

See my explanation above about the adverse effects in relation to COVID-19.

Yep. Here in Portugal free masks are delivered by the government to everyone's mailboxes every week. Almost no cases in the Algarve.

Be careful, another poster will say that isn't right. I made similar claims before and was told I was wrong...

Yet in Soviet America, it is fend for yourself... We better be able to write them off on taxes or something. The masks should have been provided. Plain and simple.
