U.S. Could Be Weeks From Meat Shortages With Shutdowns Spreading

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/us...ng/ar-BB139I9V

We have farmers and meat producers destroying food while some markets have bare shelves.

What is the department of agriculture doing?

Millions of bail out dollars are being sent to colleges that have billion dollar trust funds while food supply chains are failing or about to.

Is there any thing our countries leadership can not fail at?

That is a fair point.

Yup -- perhaps those food processing plants should have been encouraged and supported to impose testing and contact tracing to help mitigate.

This is a big problem. The federal govt. should have coordinated food supply organizations to address the possibility of the virus shutting down food plants -- not only because of potential spread but because of a lack of employees due to illnesses.

I've not looked into that (and generally not impressed with the Bill Gates Commie Network as a source).

Food consumption is what it is. Whether one eats out or at home makes little difference, even if you factor in restaurant waste, which is actually quite significant.

I did see some fake news reports of agricultural workers not working.

Some people don't understand the meaning of "growing season." At this time of year, most stuff is imported from South America and elsewhere in the southern hemisphere, where it's Summer/Fall not Winter/Spring.

In the US, excluding Spring wheat, there's not much out there right now.

Local farmers here in Charleston SC are going to have a banner year. So happy for them. We have local butchers, fishermen, poulty providers, goat breeders..........thankful to live in a community surrounded by small agriculture.

We're throwing money at Corona like a drunken sailor at a house of prostitution. And in all the wrong places. Trying to take care of the needs of 325 million people is insanity.

Not if you have someone in leadership that knows what they are doing. The US has the infrastructure in place to work through a crisis like this, however trump isn’t implementing any of it. I thought maybe this would wake people up on his idiocy, but nope.....

We wouldn't have over 300 million people if it weren't for the massive number of both legal and illegal immigration over the past several decades.
