Exactly! He could have stopped it in its tracks if he'd just taken it seriously at the end of January instead of just "Oh, this is nothing. It'll go away in a few weeks. It's all a hoax!" He squandered two months politicizing Coronavirus and those lost 2 months would have made the difference between 1000 lives and 100,000.

You are projecting your thoughts on others.

He is responsible for the handling of it, and to be honest, I think any president would have shut down travel and spearhead the shutting down of the economy like all other countries did. Darn if you do, darn if you don't.

The usual suspects on this thread are pessimists who look back and try to place/shift blame, or defend the mistakes done by their leader(s), but I am looking forward and I think the recovery will be rapid since people simply can't wait to get out and start normal life again, which in US includes spending money on goods and services. Demand for oil will also increase.

Is there a word for "sarcastic" in Finnish?

If you only want to bicker, and don't have a response to my actual points, then I suppose there isn't much more to say. Have a nice day.

Florida doesn't have any C-19 unemployed people because we shut down our computer claims filing system....problem solved! No new unemployment, and we eliminated the expense of having to pay people to not work.

Apparently we don't count the dead either, but last I checked they had processed 6% of the unemployment claims. My wife got $275 early March and nothing since then.

The goal of complicating the system was to keep the unemployment numbers low, and its working like a charm.

I hope that as surviving businesses reopen, those laid off are offered their jobs back.

Denmark instituted a lock down and its unemployment rate went from 4.0% to 4.2%. This was mostly due to the government instituting robust plans to ward off economic fallout

Then again, their government isnt run by a low IQ game show host

Considering Trump ignored the coronavirus warnings in the intelligence briefings he recieved starting all the way back in January....Im gonna have to go with yeah, he kinda deserves some of the blame here. Although, Trump has never been big on personal responsibility.

Then again according to the logic of CD forums: blue states are to blame but Trump isnt. In other words: everything that happens thats good is to Trumps credit but everything bad that happens is due to some phantom entity out to get Mr. Trump that can never be identified except under vauge terms and conspiracy theories

Woah Florida is doing everything it can. For example we decided to open up in the hopes you can return so we don't have process your claim.

We also decided to roll out mass testing after we decided to open the state, that way we have an excuse for an increase in numbers. Now you just trickle in the deaths the state is hiding over time and BOOM all loose ends tied up.
