Remember when people were asked to taddle on their neighbors and businesses for violating lockdown orders? Well, St. Louis County decided to release the personal info of all those people to the public.
Quote:
A spree of social media posts this week warn that St. Louis County released the information it got from people who reported businesses in violation of the stay-at-home order.
The document, released in response to a Sunshine Law request, included names and contact information of the people making the reports. In their messages, some asked for anonymity.
I love it. I can't think of a more fitting lesson to the bootlickers who placed their trust in the government.
I'm sure there's a lot of personal information and Freedom of Information requests that could be gathered about Jared Totsch (the one on the news story who did this) and publicized as well. And he now has over 900+ people and their supporters that would gladly do that if he wants to play at that game, though they may not because they're not such a loser with nothing better to do with their time.
This can come back and bite him in some poetic justice way though, especially for harassing whistleblowers, who spoke out against businesses who were violating the law and putting public health in danger. In many cases, they were simply speaking up about some of the orders that the businesses were violating that was risking their own health. It's really a shame that we have people like that who, instead of trying to look out for and help his neighbors, choose to harass people who are simply speaking up against businesses who would put others in harm's way. Some patriot. People like him are basically negative liabilities to society, and right now are causing a drain on our health care system.
True, if your story is correct, those responsible for releasing the names should be, well, held responsible.
However, it appears that the 900 tips were warranted, people are dying because they can't sit at home for a while.
I don't think the public employees who were doing this were doing so to try to cause the complainants a problem. They checked with their legal counsel who advised them that they had to release the information due to public records law, which apparently was pretty broad to allow the complainants' names to be released. That would likely be due to state law being so overly open about what information could be released to anybody and everybody.
I agree with you that trying to twist this around to make the whistleblowers the villains is appalling.
