It's always a concern when progressives get that "glint" in their eye and start publicly calling for things to go in the socialist/communist direction but I'm just as concerned with the economy. We f'ed up by going this hard line and need to start loosening things up ASAP

Oh and the college kids here are angry and going to protest the UC system for not being able to get refunds back, we all know how conservative most college kids and especialy in CA....LOL.

You see you could probably pull that off it the protests were just in places like Oklahoma, Michigan, but when a state like CA is showing people are fed up due to having a tyrant for a Governor, people are fed up.

To your next point, exactly how did Republicans "dismantle the New Deal"? We still have social security. If anything, we have MORE giveaway programs: subsidized housing, reduced or free utilities, free breakfasts and lunches for the schoolkids, and food stamps. And in case that isn't enough, we have leftists calling to have other people pay off college loans, give free 4-year-tuition, and now, unbelievably, give illegal aliens free college.
I think we should go back to calling government assistance "Relief." It implies that is a temporary measure to help someone down on their luck TEMPORARILY, and that it is a last resort. The leftists are taking are BACKWARDS; how ironic (and arrogant) that they named themselves "progressives."
