Even though trump is the most stamina filled and energetic president in the history of presidents, one man can't run the kind of 24 hour a day outrage machine like trump does. Most likely he has people monitoring the media and giving him reports any time someone mentions his name or more specifically criticizes him so that he can respond appropriately.
an odd comment to make but he is right. Carson was the best whose ever been. Invited new talent on his show which could make somebody a star overnight. Which Leno refused to do. He would talk to the guests and let them be the focal point of the conversations without interrupting them to make himself the focus. Which Fallon does to just about every guest. And to top it all off i can't ever recall Johny being anything else but a class act who treated everybody with respect. Even when he did political humor it lacked the "hate" of todays humor you could laugh at it regardless of the political spectrum you happened to be on. Carson never came off as an Elite whom if you didn't agree with his viewpoint you were an idiot. Which is what many todays comedians seem to act like.
DJT just attacks anybody who doesn't outright stroke his fragile ego, so he's not exactly a good judge.
I'm not sure how well Carson would work with a modern audience. Comedy changes over time; both Carson and Colbert are hilarious in their own unique way.
