WASHINGTON - President Bush said tax rebates will start going out Monday, earlier than previously announced, and should help Americans cope with rising gasoline and food prices, as well as aid a slumping economy.
Duh, I don't think so! The rebates will be going to put gas in fuel tanks at $4.00 per gallon, pay down credit card bills and buy heating oil for next winter before the price goes to $5.00 per gallon! The incentive rebates (That's a joke! I didn't qualify due to insufficient income!) will have little to no effect on the US economy! Most of the rebates will be passed through to oil producers and credit card companies! How long is it until January 20, 2009 at 12:00 Noon (EST) when Dubya is packed off to retirement in Crawford, Texas?

Nothing that clown ever said was true. I ain't getting anything either. My accountant says I didn't give the Govt enough so they will just confiscate the rebate from me.

No matter how they take it from me, it all goes for a good cause. Education, health care and so on..........for the Iraqies, not us.

While the clown is at it with his love affair with Iraq, he should also give them our Constitution to use. What the hell.....we ain't using it anymore.

I wonder how many other people are in the same boat? Could this be the reason the rebate check was enacted? Are there many people in this country claiming exempt on wages of federal taxes? Possibly to the point to where they'd come out owing to the IRS? A coy ploy to defer critism from itself?

There seems to be an undercurrent of people protesting the war through federal taxes, people scratching for money through exempt on wages due to increasing prices and stagnant wages and others who flat out don't pay.

Not to start a conspiracy theory or anything of the likes, but i find it highly odd that Gov't would issue a rebate check in times like these. Very, very strange indeed.

As strange as "tax cuts" in a time of war.
