Boomers, for years, trashed younger generations. It must have been nice bullying high school and college kids. Now those kids are older and are in the prime of their earning years. Plus they now have families. Boomers are upset they're getting pushback, and Boomers are coming to the realization their opinions rarely matter anymore. Boomers no longer have young kids to take care of. Gen X and Millennials will now have to run the show for their children. This is the last but ran for the Boomers in this election. No one is going to elect an 85 year old in 2024. This is the last hurrah for the Boomers in this election. No one is going to elect an 85 year old in 2024.
You are clearly confused. The presumed Democrat candidate is from the generation before the boomers. He is from the silent generation, as would be your fictional 85 year old in 2024. An example of boomers would be Barack and Michelle Obama.
I've been trying to convince my teenaged kids that "OK boomer" is actually the same as dismissing people's views or concerns based on other unchangeable or inherent traits like skin colour, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc.
Given that it's based on age. So isn't it simply ageism repackaged to make it socially acceptable?
People's skin is too thin in this age, many look for ways to become "victimz". The term doesn't bother me any (and I'm 58), but identity politics are also typically pretty stupid.
I have an adult daughter that I helped out financially recently (temp carried her car note) , and she used the term "Boomer Remover" in a flip manner, in relation to the current Wuhan Flu.
I asked her if she wanted to make her own car note the next month. I LoL'ed at the blank stare I received.
Ok Karen fits the gen X better. That generation is no longer getting away with just watching millennials and boomers attack each other.
We need a cool name for the post millennial generation... the younger millennials are already 22 years old. Generation x needs another name too
Karens are not really a specific generation thing. It refers to women who have school age children and are no longer fun, get short haircuts and complain about everything. This happens before Gen X age. Every generation has had or will have Karens.
Eh, old people love to complain about those younger than them. Consider “OK boomer” to be comeuppance.
Sounds like a "trendy" sort of response pollyparroted by those who fancy themselves knowledgeable because they can spout the latest and greatest (perceived) putdown.
As boomer myself, I wouldn't even acknowledge such a remark enough to consider whether or not it's meant as an insult. I doubt I'd care one way or the other what the person's opinion of me might be. So if the person cares to entertain him/herself thinking he's lobbing insults, meh......

Boomer here. I think it's in the context. I've never heard "OK Boomer" except on the internet, where lots worse is said. Your friend may call you an old fart as a sign of affection. If your grandchild called you an old fart it probably wouldn't feel so good. I think young people should show respect to their elders. I think that is the message you should give your teenage children. They shouldn't talk trash to them the way they talk to their friends.

If someone is going to complain about ageism, I'd say the millennials have a much better claim. The amount of incoming they've taken - mostly from boomers - justifies a bit of return fire, as far as I'm concerned,
