For what crime? It's pretty obvious that being racist makes a person a jerk, but not a criminal. First Amendment and all. The real crime is the fact that it looks like he made it himself.
So he wont face criminal charges. Truly, what charges could actually be brought? I was out for a stroll yesterday and ran into a guy that had swastikas, Nazi eagles and SS lighting bolts tattooed on his arms and legs wearing shorts and a tank top proudly showing it all off.
An idiot yes. But that's not a crime. Offending someone is NOT a crime. Being an overt racist is NOT a crime. I have no clue where people get this idea that someone can be criminally charged for displaying racist symbols.
But it seems that only certain symbols rate criminal treatment. If those symbols offend certain groups. Other stuff that's just as offensive is OK.
It's fine to display an Imperial Japanese rising sun, (one I find personally offensive) to blast "kill Whitey" music in a parking lot, even to publically advocate for violence against LE, political groups (at least non leftist ones) stuff that's every bit as offensive as a Klan Klown hood or Nazi bilge.
But the latter two things draw advocacy fir criminal charges. U Derek "hate crime" statutes I'm assuming. I thought a "hate crime" needed some sort of violent or otherwise actual crimi al act like vandalism or arson to actually draw criminal charges and prosecution.
Yet now it is being suggested that merely offending people is a crime. Oh my, but this has gotten out of hand. There was a thread a while back on a hangman's noose that had been braided into a rope I believe in Home Depot.
The resultant furor was just incredible. Police investigating it, people having apoplectic fits at the sight of it. Why were the police involved? What "crime" had been committed?
Wow. America has gotten to be a weird place.
