And how many hospitals there were overwhelmed by patients stuck with the Chinese Flu? We hear about hospitals furloughing workers due to a lack of income that keeps such institutions in business. And now people are dying while the doctors and nurses are laid off and the hospital beds lie empty?

It's almost like there's an agenda to inflate number of expected patients. Never let a crisis go to waste, eh?

“A report has been released today by UHN with respect to cardiac deaths and it has been estimated that approximately 35 people may have passed away because their surgeries were not performed,” Health Minister Christine Elliott acknowledged last Tuesday, according to Toronto Star.

The decisions were made by medical personnel.

According to the outlet, the FAO report found at least 12,200 surgeries and “procedures are being postponed weekly, with the tally reaching 52,700 as of April 23 and climbing daily.”

My sis in law fell and broke her arm - in south Fl were its been a hot spot - they did surgery and sent her home 2 days later. I thought elective surgeries were held back - not life or death.

I had a consult with a cancer doctor. He was supposed to do tests -- did he. Nope.

And the tests that another doctor did have taken double the time to come back.

People without covid are going to die for no reason because of this hysteria.

And they'll still be counted as corona deaths.

You forgot to mention this is talking about another country, not the US.

My sister had a heart attack yesterday. They did surgery this morning. She will be in ICU for about another week. The hospital here has no patients admitted with Covid 19 right now and has only had 2 since this all started.

Most of NVs cases have been in Vegas. Still they are allowing no visitors at this hospital. For any patients.

They'll consider these human lives "collateral damage" and try to make them sound justified somehow.

So, what do all of you propose as a fix for this ? The onset of this virus took every medical professional and medical institution by surprise, no one anticipated the onslaught of sick/dying people who would overwhelm their ability to care for normal patients, plus the hundreds of new virus patients.

It is so easy to sit back and Monday morning quarterback what people "should have done", but since none of us were in their shoes, we have zero right to question any of their decisions and things they had to do to survive.

On a battlefield, there is no time to second guess what you needed to do.

That's perversely true. They died because of the CV19 lockdown.
