Cuomo, who has emerged as a leading national voice on states’ efforts to battle the crisis, said he believed people were starting to see the pandemic as a rare opportunity to make large-scale changes.
He outlined plans to work with the foundation of Microsoft Corp co-founder Gates to improve New York’s education system, which includes the largest public system in the country in New York City, with more than one million students.
While he did not provide specifics, Cuomo suggested a fundamental rethink of the classroom was on the table.
“The old model of everybody goes and sits in a classroom and the teacher is in front of that classroom, and teaches that class, and you do that all across the city, all across the state, all these buildings, all these physical classrooms – why with all the technology you have?” Cuomo asked

Why would we think it's satire? Who better than a man, who almost singlehandedly changed the world to help find solutions to problems, some of which he has worked with for decades through his charitable work?

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has been doing educational work for decades. Your attempts to smear Bill Gates and link him to some kind of international scheme to usher in socialism are failing. I see why there is a shortage on tin-foil.
There have been a lot of people who have been conducting business virtually these last few weeks who have discovered that it is really more efficient to do it that way. DH is one of them. Some of his clients will want to continue to use videoconferencing even after the shutdown ends, especially those from out of state.
Some parents have found that their kids have really taken to distance teaching and are actually learning more and doing it faster without the distractions of the classroom. It also is one way to deal with the problem of a curriculum that is set to the level of the lowest performance in the class. Each child can progress at his own speed.
In your zeal to demonize Gates don't throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Out of all the people who have working in education in NYS for decades ... you believe that there is no one but Bill Gates to completely overhaul the educational system?

Not buying it. People are worshipping Bill Gates like he is a god. It's unprecedented. And just shows how the MSM has really done a number on people.
Sure let gates and others set up their own education programs. Just abolish public education first and then parents can decide with their own dollars which program is the best fit for their own children.
