Staying open while protecting the vulnerable seems to be working. I've said that mass isolation wasn't the best response but rather the easiest response politically/administratively. I'm not discounting the threat that the virus poses or calling it a hoax like some on these forums, but it shows that by focusing our efforts on protecting the vulnerable and having sufficient surge treatment capacity that we can go about life and work relatively normally/safely.
Thank you Sweden, for showing the world that we don't have to cower to this virus.
The UK wanted to try this but quickly abandoned the idea after pushback. Sweden didn’t cave to the pressure and went through with their plan. I hope it does work out for them. It’s too early to say one way or another.

Their body-count is 10 times higher than their neighboring countries, so I'm not sure how good their decision was.
Also:
- Their economy is as damaged as their neighbors
- There is no proof or herd immunity, or any kind of immunity to C19

Sweden’s deaths per million are lower then France, Italy, Spain and UK. The US numbers don’t look very good compared to our direct neighbors of Mexico and Canada.
If Sweden gains herd immunity, their death count may end being lower in time. It’s way too early to say that this has been a success or failure.

The lost 10 time more people than Norway and Finland based on an unproven assumption that herd immunity will protect them. That's a big gamble considering the chips are human lives.

Herd immunity takes awhile to work. They weren’t counting on it to keep them safe. Time will tell who was right and who was wrong. If they were right, their outbreak will end very soon and ours will go on indefinitely. Like I said, too early to tell. Think about it.
