The conventional wisdom is that in presidential elections, a candidate's choice of VP makes little difference in their chances of victory. But this is not a normal election and Joe Biden is not your average candidate. The unspoken assumption is that Democrats are not actually voting for Joe Biden; they are voting for the VP. Why else would there be endless excited articles written by pundits advising him on whom to pick or how to go about making his selection? This candidate would be best, this candidate shouldn't be chosen. Do you think Joe Biden's VP pick will affect his chances of winning?

I am still not convinced he will even be the nominee.

As long as he picks a woman, female voters won’t care that he’s a rapist.

Only question remaining is "will the jay jay be black or white?" Of course the choice will hurt or help.

We already have a rapist in the White House who is a criminal. Things can only go up from here.

OMG, I haven't laughed so hard in days! Thanks for that. BTW to answer your question, I've been reading Kamala Harris is a finalist. Apparently Biden will win first place in the pandering competition at least.

Joe Biden and the "Veepstakes"
I think he is doomed, and a VP wont help him, unless its a Republican pick, like the UN rep. I forget her name.

The UN Rep is Nicky Haley and I wish she was the GOP candidate for President...

The modern rules for picking a running mate are (1) do no harm to the nominee and (2) do as much good as possible. You do that by picking someone who complements their positive attributes and won't highlight or exacerbate any of his perceived negative ones. And the very first first question anyone should ask, which is especially important now given Biden's age, should be whether the person picked for VP is well qualified to run the nation if he cannot finish his term in office. That was the single biggest problem which sunk McCain in 2008.

It will if it is bad pick. Otherwise probably not.
