The White House is asking staffers to wear masks now. Anybody here have a problem with that?

i don't know what more of a simple study you disbelievers need about the 'somewhat effective' impact masks have.

step 1. get a spray bottle with food coloring or grape juice or koolaid
step 2. hold folded t-shirt cloth up near a wall and spray the cloth from 1" away.
step 3. Look at the opposite side of the cloth and see if any food coloring landed on the wall.

easy!

Viral particles are microscopic though so it’s really not so easy to make such a comparison, nor is it scientific.

Over the weekend I conducted "Operation Gas X" . Was standing in line (6 feet apart) from everyone and dropped a nice ten second "sssssssssssssss" silent but deadly among everyone wearing masks. Everyone smelled it. How can that be? They're all wearing masks. Next I went home, diced up fresh onions while wearing a chit breather. Yep, I could smell those onions just as well as I do without the N95 on.

But they are contained in water droplets.

Source? It’s all theoretical at this point whether cloth masks may or may not prevent emission of viral particles in any significant manner. The evidence does not exist. Hence, it should be a choice to wear or not wear one for everyone, including workers.

Masks don't stop gas or even the air born droplets from fresh onions being diced.

Based on what I’ve observed and how masks are being used, I believe they very well could be causing more harm then any potential benefit.
You certainly can... but when you walk into a store or establishment, don't expect them to carry the same willful ignorance as you and refuse you service.

Not everyone is good about covering their mouth when they sneeze of cough. I have observed it many times... I guess that's good enough to throw the entire concept of covering your mouth for a cough or sneeze out the window.

Source? Everywhere, that has never been in question. Water droplets mean spit or mucus, etc.
