Agree except for certain situations concerning alcohol. Serious ETOH abuse can lead to death with a cold turkey approach but I get where your coming from. Better than admitting them into a hospital due to detoxing.

Last thing nurses and Docs need is fighting with a confused Detoxing guy in your Emergency Room full of Covid-19. That guy could shred everyone's PPE near him with one quick swing. The stuff is literally paper thin and made to pull off or tear easily.

If you're that far gone, maybe it's not that big of a loss. Maybe life preserving measures should be reserved for people who give a damn about themselves.
