,,,what a total (blank)

and then has the unmitigated gall to say this.....

"“We’re just not going to send a person who is positive to a nursing home after a hospital visit,” said Cuomo during an Albany press briefing. “Period.”

Period????....that's exactly what he did already...what he's been doing until now...

Hospitals can’t discharge coronavirus patients to nursing homes: Gov. Cuomo

Patients in New York hospitals must now test negative for the coronavirus before they can be discharged to nursing homes, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Sunday — partially reversing a policy that forced sickened seniors into facilities housing those most vulnerable.

“We’re just not going to send a person who is positive to a nursing home after a hospital visit,” said Cuomo during an Albany press briefing. “Period.”

The ruling partially overrides a controversial March 25 order that nursing homes cannot deny admission or readmission on the basis of a positive or suspected COVID-19 case.

A logical policy change now that the case load is lower and more hospital beds are available? Whatever.

sending all those elderly patients to their death in NY nursing homes must be terribly upsetting to Cuomo. He has no idea what he's doing.

He is a useless sack of monkey nuts, and he flip-flops like a flounder, yet for some reason there are a bunch of morons who think he's the 2nd coming of Christ.

Did he know what he was doing before? Was it intentional? Or just really poorly thought out

Yep. All while releasing violent criminals from jails and prisons for their protection... Why is it that liberals empathize more with criminals than law abiding citizens? What kind of animal does something like that?

You want to see an increase in deaths, keep old folks in hospital for extended periods of time. Here in God's Waiting Room (Florida) this is well studied and considered a Standard of Practice to get people over 65 out of the hospital ASAP. Just the loss of strength for a elderly patient from not walking or doing daily activities for 1 week is surprising the first time you see it. If your hospital has COVID-19 patients everywhere then those elderly patients cannot do anything but sit in a chair or lay in bed, there no physical therapy or other means of exercise in a hospital full of COVID-19. And the hospital is still full of 100+ other bugs that want to kill them too, hospitals can save you and can become a death trap at the same time.

Honestly, there is no where for nursing home patients to go. Family members don't come pick up their love ones, some would be impossible to care for at a family member's home. States and Counties cannot afford to house them, feed them, and hire more nurses to provide care in temporary housing while patient their nursing home to keep their bed (Nursing homes are businesses, don't confuse your nice doc or nurse for the Business of healthcare).

And even the solution of housing discharged nursing home patients in another location still exposes them to COVID-19 if there is community spread because the healthcare personnel still live and function in that same community. We are seeing COVID-19 entering ALF's and nursing home in Florida, Washington, and California through the employees themselves, not discharged COVID-19 patients.
