I agree with you that I think more Black people should carry guns. If nothing else, Black people need to defend themselves.
I also want to add this. There are individuals who are very uncomfortable with Blacks carrying guns. And I don't care what said individuals have to say regarding Black crime. 2nd Amendment says you can carry a gun.
Well said. I believe that would cut down on violent crime.
I disagree. I've been around people who carry guns. Never had to worry about getting shot. The problem is with thugs and unstable individuals.

I have to agree that if you are at risk, live in a rough area etc. then getting properly trained and following the laws is a wise course of action.
For example, my extended family has a fair number of very good looking young ladies in them and you can bet that we have outfitted them with mace etc. (they're not comfortable with guns). One of my female relatives had a creepy stalker for a while, they went and got training, practiced and got a gun.
If you look at demographics where the person minds their own business doesn't start trouble and gets attacked, you're talking about women and people living in rougher neighborhoods in particular.
