That card has been over played. Liberty is in danger, no level of extremism is unwarranted in defense of such a violation.
What people who desire this level of violation need to understand is that there may be very real consequences to such actions and they need to ask themselves, is this need to infringe on liberty worth their life? Worth taking the life of another?
Before you answer, for those who believe in liberty. The answer is... YES.
Drama queen....much???
You and everyone else losing their collective minds over this "restaurant list", simple questions....
Do any of you have social media accounts?? Credit cards??? Debit cards?? Do you ever shop online? Do you routinely cover the camera on your computer??? Do have an Echo or other similar device in your home??
Do you have GPS in your car?? Do you have a smart phone??? Do you ever leave your house (prior to current restrictions) and walk around a major city with cameras essentially EVERYWHERE?
If you answer YES to any of the above questions then congratulations, you are already being TRACKED, WATCHED, CATALOGED and SPIED UPON routinely much more egregiously and effectively than you ever could be by writing your name on a restaurant ledger....

Easy-peasy. I haven't eaten in a restaurant for about five years. Prefer my own cooking. I won't miss nothin' and the control freaks won't get a bite out of me!
During the time when the nation was faced with a crisis and a majority found it in themselves to deal with it. I'm perfectly aware of FDR's shortcomings, but you may have noticed that I picked a coupe of specific examples of citizens suffering inconvenience for - dare I say it? - the common good.
We had a common enemy. An external enemy. Here we have active domestic subversives that are stymying the resolution of this virus via unfounded medical admonitions that change weekly.
We have heavy-handed government(D) decrees and political operatives that are working to delay the improvement of our economy by extending shutdowns, thus doing maximum damage to businesses nationwide.
All to create an atmosphere of confusion, distrust and fear AND naturally assigning blame to the President in an election year.
We all see it, and have had enough. Pay attention to large-scale defiance. I'm sure it will infuriate you.
these governors are tripping if they think once this reopening gets moving they'll have any say in what goes on. They have no one to enforce these arbitrary "rules"

This is exactly how I feel. My Virginia Governor is feckless and surely knows his newfound power is temporary.
It's not "capricious and arbitrary"....it's called "science"
And "science" has clearly shown that infection with COVID 19 is clearly related to "dose + time".
Moving quickly through a grocery store or hardware store while maintaining some form of social distancing, limiting time in contact with others and hopefully wearing a mask makes the likelihood of infection very low...
Sitting in a restaurant however for a protracted amount of time, breathing the same air as others in relatively close proximity (even with social distancing) with masks off for eating and drinking significantly increases the risk of exposure and subsequent infection..
This isn't theoretical...it has been definitively shown to be the case...
"Restaurants: Some really great shoe-leather epidemiology demonstrated clearly the effect of a single asymptomatic carrier in a restaurant environment (see below). The infected person (A1) sat at a table and had dinner with 9 friends. Dinner took about 1 to 1.5 hours. During this meal, the asymptomatic carrier released low-levels of virus into the air from their breathing. Airflow (from the restaurant's various airflow vents) was from right to left. Approximately 50% of the people at the infected person's table became sick over the next 7 days. 75% of the people on the adjacent downwind table became infected. And even 2 of the 7 people on the upwind table were infected (believed to happen by turbulent airflow). No one at tables E or F became infected, they were out of the main airflow from the air conditioner on the right to the exhaust fan on the left of the room" https://www.erinbromage.com/post/the...hem-avoid-them
Contact tracing and adequate testing are the only way through this pandemic.....
If you really care about restaurants "needing your business" then you should be happy to comply with contact tracing because it is only way restaurants should be allowed to open during this time...
Update: With a single exception, all infected either had no symptoms themselves or did suffer the virus in varying degrees but all recovered.

That make sense?
Absolutely makes sense! I like my own company enough that being home alone hasn't been a hardship at all. One or two trips a week to the grocery store and an occasional trip to the post office to send homemade masks to my family members. Otherwise, I'm happy.
Until you take away my freedom to do otherwise.
The one exception to my happiness is that my husband is in a care facility. I am one of the lucky ones who get ANY contact with their loved ones, because he is on hospice. I get to spend about 15 minutes a week with him. He is not in any danger of dying anytime soon, but still I have had stolen from me the ability to spend every precious moment with him that I can.

I think we are a lot closer to a 2nd amendment solution to this than some are thinking. These governors are generally small, petty little people that are enjoying their new-found power and authority way too much. I remember reading about how the Nazi party came to power. The promise of socialism, nationalization of businesses, and the "safety" of their people. I see far too many that look as if they'd be happy to get on rail cars or yellow arm bands if they were told it would somehow make them safer. We have already seen some pathetic individuals that are happy to "rat out" their fellow citizens if happen to remember that they are citizens and not subjects. Worse, we have governors begging their citizens to turn on each other. We have, for years, had individuals and worse, government officials, working to ensure we were defenseless against their dictates.
I suppose both these types of citizens and power-hungry wannabe tyrants in governemt have always been around. Now they have crawled out from under their rocks and revealed themselves for what they are. And it's ugly.
