Another brilliant consideration by Trump, set to restore partial funding to WHO at the same level as China !!!

This should get bipartisan support !!!

Brilliant idea I bet no one saw coming !!! We keep a seat at the table and the WHO would have to change their China centric policy to get greater funding from the US or China can pay more and they keep doing what they have been doing !!!

Trump administration reportedly set to restore partial funding ...
https://www.cnbc.com/2020/05/16/trum...ng-to-who.html

The United States was the WHO’s biggest donor. If the U.S. matches China’s contribution, as the Fox report adds, its new funding level will be about one-tenth of its previous funding amount of about $400 million per year.

The WHO should get the same treatment it has asked for along with another organization wandering off the reservation.

At this particular point in time; given the nature of the U.N.'s founding charter and their performance history of following that mandate, I'd rather suggest they instead experience more and more countries questioning or reviewing their U.N. funding policy.

Perhaps an experience akin to some kid not doing the chores agreed-upon for eligibility of a weekly allowance, having the whole or part of his weekly stipend withheld until performance of his expected role comes up to the standard agreed upon in the first place would be more appropriate way to deal with these people as removed from reality as your basic meth-head just having gotten his latest hit.

The last thing on a list would be to acquiesce to a the "but Billy's dad gives him $5 for just taking the trash to the curb."

Perhaps an "I don't shive-a-git what Billy's dad does, he's not feeding you or paying for your guitar lessons." would be a better response today.

Telling the U.N. that if they want to play kissy face with China, a well known continuing human rights abuser, then they should rely solely upon funding from their chosen "god father" and the resultant rendering of that org. being consigned to the irrelevant it has made of itself, being what they asked for and finally achieved.

The U.N.'s performance throughout this pandemic has been worse than merely "complicit"; it has been criminally corrupt.

Truth be told the democrats would happily turn over power to the UN to rule America before they would allow any GOP admin. control of gov. !!!

Sadly, that sure seems to be true.

Nothing fnal yet !!!

Trump mulling plan to match Chinese payments, no decision yet on WHO funding
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/tru...on-who-funding

Maintaining funding for the organization, even at a reduced level, would mark a shift in the strategy by the administration of withdrawing entirely from a number of funding obligations and memberships at the U.N.

Under Trump, the U.S. has withdrawn from the U.N. Human Rights Council and the U.N. Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and has pulled funding from the U.N. Palestinian refugee agency.

What did DJT expect would happen when he cut funding to the WHO in the middle of an epidemic? Hmm. Not exactly a brilliant move. Mostly I expect he was playing to his base in order to continue his charade of blaming somebody else. Anybody else. Naturally they eat it up 'cause they already drank the kool aide.

Huh. Question. If America is W.H.O's biggest contributor, why would W.H.O. bite the hand that feeds them and side with China trying to cover up the virus? Why would Trump praise China as doing a great job and being transparent? Something is odd here.

Trump has effectively de-funded and muzzled the CDC. Has Trump used his influence and our tax payer money to use W.H.O to defend China because Trump has a $200 million dollar loan out to China that's coming due soon? Either way some one needs to talk to Tedros Adhanom and get to the truth behind how and why W.H.O. missed the human to human transmission early on. If the W.H.O. has indeed become politicized for money, than Tedros needs to step down. If any agency should be non political, it's the W.H.O and the CDC. The world's health depends on it and both have failed miserably.
