This person is full of hate for the president and look I’m not even talking about sides if she hated a Democrat this much I’d be sick of it also.

Sample of what you can hear in any given hour of the day
“Trump’s drug failed he’s so stupid”
“Trumps telling everyone the virus is over so now death rates go up”
“Trump hates women”
“Trump wants people to riot, he encouraged it”
Etc

This is all day every day. This person is intelligent. I understand everyone deals with stress their own way, and probably this family member is dealing with stress by projecting everything wrong on Trump and republicans in general. (“that’s a republican state of course death rates are up “)

Whenever I attempt to say something like “it shouldn’t be a political matter. Democrats blame republicans and republicans blame democrats” said person responds with “no Trump is telling people to liberate themselves and riot! Deaths rates are increased because of republican mishandling of the situation ” etc

There is no rationality.
What is the best thing to say and still keep family peace? I can’t just agree with this banter anymore, it’s depressing and I don’t enjoy hearing this multiple times every day.

I'd simply avoid them. Those with TDS are simply not rational.

Explain to them that politics is off the table as a discussion topic.

Lol. I’ll stop thinking of what I can say and just hold up the hand. I guess that’s all that I can do.

Perhaps allot 15 minutes per day for said person to vent their frustrations and then switch to a firm no politics rule for the other 23 hours and 45 minutes.

The left had to listen to it for eight years from the right. This family member may have waited years to give it back in return and they may know exactly how angry it makes family members on the right and are delighting in it.

If you’re dependent on them, get the hell out of there.
If they’re dependent on you, get them the hell out of there.

Nobody needs to live in a toxic household, especially in such already-stressful times.
