I was taught that the Sahara desert existed because it lies directly under the subtropical high pressure belt between 15 and 35 degrees north latitude. Most of the world’s hot deserts exist at these latitudes (north and south of the equator).

In contrast, the Amazon rainforest is near the equator, where the semi-permanent inter tropical convergence zone sits. That zone produces heavy rainfall. It’d be hard to make a desert there.

It was the same aliens that built the Pyramids. Jeez, the science is settled, the debate is over.

There weren't enough people in the whole world, let alone in what became the Sahara Desert to influence the "climate". Now, aren't we supposed to accept that happens in one small area isn't an example of "climate"?

The common explanation for why it went back to desert is a change in the earth's tilt. However, some are starting to believe it may have been human induced climate change...
I think that is correct and that the earth's tilt was due to overpopulation almost causing the planet to capsize, but instead, it just tilted - whew! My source, my main negro, the ever brilliant, Congressman Hank Johnson. Give it up for a bruther.

I'm sorry, but the idea that Africans or other brown people could have a negative impact on the climate (or engage in wars, genocides, slavery) is just racist whatabouting from White People.

well the Sahara is slowing going back green anyway....and has shrunk about 8% in the past decades

"Using satellite images, Venter et al. 2018 found an eight percent increase in woody vegetation in sub-Saharan Africa over the last three decades, underscoring the global “greening trend”."

8% is 700,000 sq km....about the size of Germany and France combined
