Trump gives WHO 30 days to show substantive improvements, Funding in the balance
I doubt they can show substantive improvements !!! Especially when they have doubled down on no wrong doing !!! They have to admit a problem exist before they can address solutions !!! They have shown no willingness to do that !!!
President Trump released a blistering letter late Monday to the head of the World Health Organization, stating that his administration conducted an investigation that confirmed the health body’s multiple failures in the early stages of the coronavirus outbreak, and warned that his current funding freeze will become permanent if the organization does not make “substantive” improvements within 30 days.
Their response to this pandemic was essentially one that was closely aligned with China's messaging and China's priorities.
I'm glad Trump is pushing to have them looked at much more closely. Cut their funding if they do not comply and/or pass the needed objectives with the proposed schedule.
There is definitely some sketchy stuff going on with this organization behind the scenes.
I love how the USA is accusing the WHO of dismissing the seriousness of the virus in the middle of January.
This highlights our federal govt.'s dismissal of the virus in February after the WHO finally did identify the seriousness (according to Trump's timeline).
They really don't think these things through do they
Already world wide Trump is being accused of projecting.
There may be some concerns with the reaction time by WHO but given Trump's poor reaction time given his own intelligence and AFTER WHO issued the alarm -- all integrity in Trump's argument is lost.
He messes it up every time.
And they are misreporting in Trump's letter the release of the Lancet report -- it was not released in December -- January 24 was the first report published by them -- after the WHO had issued their concern.
This is going to get Trump a boat load of criticism from around the world -- forget about the Democrats.
Absolutely hilarious that the US thinks they're currently in a position to lecture anyone on pandemic responses.
