As many as 75,000 Americans could die because of drug or alcohol misuse and suicide as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, according to an analysis conducted by the national public health group Well Being Trust.
The group is sounding the alarm that the growing unemployment crisis, economic downturns and stress caused by isolation and lack of a definitive end date for the pandemic could significantly increase so-called "deaths of despair" unless local, state and federal authorities take action.
I’ve been talking about this for weeks. We are very quickly getting to the point where “the cure” is more dangerous than the disease, if we haven’t already passed it.

I heard on some radio show, I think it was on NPR that when there is a 1% increase in unemployment then there is a 3% increase in suicides and drug overdoses.
It makes sense when you think about all the doom and gloom the media dumps on us everyday that people would fall into despair and see no way out of the mess.
I'm sure if 75,000 do take their own lives that the media will be more than happy to add those to the Corona virus daily death tally and blame Trump for it.
Study after study has shown mortality rates tend to be lower in times of recession.
I suggest a simple google. Mortality Rate Great Depression.
