I believe he's taking it. Even though I cannot stand the liar, I do think he is probably taking a low dose as a preventative. He even mentioned that he takes the zinc with it so it sounds right. He's had a very close call with people close to him getting it so he's scared. He's even making everyone wear masks. He's that scared. (But he won't wear a mask.) But I do think he's taking it and for prevention--no one knows if that works though.
I already answered you, and was kind enough to point out the differences between the two. I do believe it is dumb to take it as a preventative measure because of the drugs side effects. Risking damage to my heart is an unacceptable risk for me. If they find that risk acceptable, or have knowledge that the risk is negligible to them, then that's their decision to make. I don't have that knowledge.

There's no reason to believe that the doctor was forced to prescribe anything given that doctors all across the world are doing the same along with taking it themselves for the very same reason.
I get that your medical background might be more impressive than all of those doctors, so I'll consider your opinion on the matter for what it's worth.
That said, despite your no doubt impressive medical background, I don't think there is reason to believe that the president is taking prescription drugs without a prescription for them, nor that his doctors are lying about it. That's a bit too.....well Rachel Maddow/Alex Jones type conspiracy theory BS for me.

It's funny how people can bash people for not taking the virus seriously enough and then turn around and try to belittle someone who is taking precautions against it as being scared.
He's taking it because he made wearing a mask a political statement. Now he and his family have to take the risk.
