Two months later and I STILL have not gotten an answer on how packing into Costco is "safe" while visiting the local record shop is life threateningly dangerous. Yes, Costco and the other big guys sell food but they also sell plenty of "non-essentials".
Costco is one of the least crowded places to shop.
And they are strict about enforcing the six feet social distancing.
Isn't that true of all crisis -- big corporations can ride the wave...smaller businesses operating closer to the edge struggle.
WE made a point to support some local/smaller businesses. Everything from the deals on shows from American businesses to (Good Morning America deals), to following local businesses online and buying up stuff.
It's up to us to figure out how to help small businesses.
As much as I love music, stores that are only record stores aren't essential businesses. Nor is GameStop. Supermarkets, Costco's, Kmart's, Targets, Walmarts, Sam's Clubs and Amazon are because they have essential items. Record stores and Game Stops are not.
What about Michael's Crafts and Best Buy? Why are they open?
Working as intended. Big corporations have the cash for big campaign contributions. For the most part, small businesses don't.
