I agree the Libertarians had a golden opportunity in 2016 to gain ground on the other two parties and the Johnson gaffe killed it. I doubt Trump would have known then or perhaps even now knows what Aleppo is but he better at steering away from gotcha moments. Its not what you know its how you keep from looking ignorant that counts. And even if Trump says something completely wrong he will just claim later he was joking or got taken out of context.
I know during 2016 they asked Trump what he thought of Libertarians. He said they are good people. Clearly he was not sure what Libertarians were. Perhaps he thought they were referring to some christian sect or the country of "Liberteria" who knows.
And as far as not being qualified to lead anything. Look who we got in the white house. And look at Biden. If he is really as out of it as some claim is he really qualified in his twilight years?

Come on. Sure, Gary botched it but it's not like Donald Trump would have known what the hell Aleppo was either. Both major party candidates have screwed up foreign policy questions every election cycle.
He was the better choice over Trump and Clinton then even with the Aleppo gaffe. Heck, he's the better choice over Trump and Biden right now and he ain't even running.
