One things folks have to understand in America is that cops are big on torture and revenge.

We see it all the time. Resist, talk, run, move, etc. and they’re going to yell at you, punch you in the face, tackle, knee, strangle, tase, pepper spray, sic a dog on you, tear gas you, etc. especially if you look broke or poor. It’s extrajudicial police brutality.

I’m pro cop but if you can’t handle a suspect without police brutality, you don’t need to be a cop. And if only bad people want to be cops, the the police department needs to improve their vetting process.

Do you think he has done this before?
Just think what this guy has done without a camera on him.

Wonder how many unsolved murders in that city, he has committed?

One of the four officers was of Asian descent, who has a history of excessive force. I also believe one of the four officers involved was Black.

As black people, we should have followed Malcolm not Martin. Certain people only respect or understand violence

Malcolm was right about what was needed in urban areas. King, who despite the segregation of the shout, had a relatively genteel upbringing, didn't really understand how racism was carried out in the north, or the effect it had already had on black society.

Southern black society was modeled closely after southern white society. See the movie "Hidden Figures" for an image of urban black society. Southern black society was already a stable and viable society in itself, needing only to be free of Jim Crow.

That was nothing like what you see in "Crooklyn" or "Boyz in the Hood." King did not realize, as Malcolm did, that urban black society first needed a complete transformation into a stable, viable society before integration.

Was the officer wondering the same thing? Any chance he thought the man was lying, and was able to breathe well enough to not be in danger?
You could be a lawyer!!

Ladies and gentlemen, the cops are not your friends. The smart thing to do is go out of your way to avoid any direct contact with them. Do not look at them or acknowledge them and certainly do no give them any easy reasons to pull you over. The problem is half of them are nice people who are simply useful idiots of the system (for the increasingly fascist control structure of the country) and the other half are power-tripping scumbags in a clown outfit. The problem is you don't know which half you are dealing with and want to avoid all of them to play it safe. There is a fairly high turnover rate in law enforcement and my hunch is that part of that turnover are the ones who do if for a few years and realize it wasn't what they signed up for. They grow a conscience and quit. Same deal with soldiers who come home pissed off and bummed out after realizing they were just being used to do the dirty work of bad (but helpless) old men and rich corporations. With the cops it has gotten worse in the 20 or years since 9/11 and it has taken on a much more menacing and militarized role and it seems to attract the itchy trigger-finger psychos a lot more than it seems like it used to.

Agreed. You have to treat each encounter with a cop as you would a rabid pitbull: no eye contact, no sudden movements, etc. Each interaction is potentially life-threatening for yourself.

Yes, he was possibly under the influence and initially resisted arrest, but I cannot see any reason at all for that officer to continue to put his knee on the guy's throat as he struggled to breathe. Even bystanders were concerned.

Firing those rogue cops is just the first step. I hope they face charges for manslaughter or murder. There was no reason for them to ignore his pleas.
