My employer has not mandated masks since the beginning of the pandemic, but has provided them. It is up to the employees to wear them or not as they choose. I personally have not worn a mask at work for the past three weeks, and prior to that only wore one when the store got crowded. We have had a grand total of one customer walk out over the fact that we weren't wearing masks.
Given masks are for the protection of others not yourself......it says quite a bit about the business.
It depends on the goods/services and how badly I need them. I walk into a gift store with employees not wearing masks, not encouraging distancing, taking no measures rightn ow -- that speaks to their customer relations....and probably wouldn't bother with them.
I would actually prefer to patronize businesses where employees don't wear masks, and customers aren't expected to wear masks either. The ultimate would be a business where, at least for whimsical purposes, there would be a sign prominently affixed to the front door: "Warning! Masks strictly prohibited inside. Entry expressly denied to anyone wearing a mask, or other facial covering".
I only get groceries, so I don't really have a choice. I'm more comfortable when employees and customers wear masks, but if I have no choice and see people without them, I just make sure I'm in and out as quickly as possible.
Same. I’m not going to put myself at more risk going in and out of multiple stores assessing who is or isn’t wearing masks. I go to my local grocery store, get what I need, and go. The cashiers are all now behind plexiglass so mitigation steps are taking place.
Sure. I'd take my mask off and compliment them on having the ability to think for themselves.
You know that small businesses are safer than the big retail chains that were allowed to stay open, right? So why were they forced to close, again?
