So it’s ok to erase history now? Why stop at the civil war? Let’s erase American slavery too!
That’s called “whitewashing history” and countries like China do it.
Outside in the real world, holding Confederate generals up as noble people to be honored is whitewashing history - almost literally, come to think of it. The romantic depictions of the antebellum South. The insistence on calling the Civil War a battle over "State's Rights". The use of freakin' plantations as romantic wedding venues.
You're not preserving history. You're preserving a propagandist lie about history.
The LEFT wants to remove the statues, those removing our history. They justify it be saying we can go to libraries and read about it in books, or go to Museums where they say ALL the statues should go. Thus taking them out of our public view, and the public consciousness to be quickly forgotten. A new, history is to be re-written. Like what the good little Communists do.
The "left" and any other civilized human would stand against symbols meant to racially terrorize.
If you were so proud of your "history" you would stick your real name to it right there in Denver instead of signaling the virtues of racism, white supremacy and cowardice.

Should we tear down Egyptian monuments because the ancient Egyptians were racist?
Did the US make Egypt a territory?
