It has been said I have white privilege. To my face and behind my back. White privilege....I had to Google it because I had never heard the term before. Well, if I did (do) have it, I squandered it with bad choices earlier in life. For most of my twenties and early 30's I lived hand to mouth and wondered which day my car would be repossessed. I had to prove myself more than my colleagues, black and white and brown, who had the benefit of having the money or scholarships to finish college.
I'm now in my mid-40's, have a retirement plan, savings, two homes. Not married. Did it all on my own - bleeding, sweating and crying. Even today I have to go above and beyond.
I had acquired a bunch of carry sized bottles of sanitizer thanks to a friend who had stockpiles of the stuff prior to the epidemic. Two days ago I approached an elderly, African American woman at the grocery store and asked if she'd like one or two of the bottles I was carrying around. I had seen her using handy-wipes. She was polite, but declined, and as I walked away I heard her say to her companion, "White guilt".
So now I'm privileged AND guilty. If anything, I was being ageist. But regardless, I give up.
I am tired of hearing about this. I am middle class, I’ve had to fight and crawl to have any kind of decent life. I work with black people who are exactly the same as me. How am I privileged over them.....same job, same middle class life etc. I never hear them complain that the white guys get it easier. If anything the opposite is true, there are affirmative action advantages for blacks in hiring processes and college admissions. I am sick of this and so are a great many white people. This is not helping race relations, white people are pulling away from black people because it is the easiest way to deal with them. You won’t have a problem if you limit your interactions with black people right? That is the result of this years long assault on “whiteness”..
Let’s not forget where all this came from. All this PC, white guilt and privilege crap has come from the academic world. Leftist professors and their brainwashed students have been pumping this garbage out for 20 years. If you want to see the fruits of their labor look at the streets filled with rioters and National gaurd. It looks like 1968 out there and if we keep it up it will look like 1862 soon. We have a big problem....most of our youth are radicalized socialists. They are now tearing up the country to get what they want. These people don’t know what they have done....the last three months of lockdowns, panics and riots are all the lefts doings. We may already be ruined as a country
Thank you! This whole white privilege narrative needs to stop. It is a lie that just divides us. White people as a rule are far far more open to other cultures than other cultures around the world including African, Asian and Muslim.
You haven’t been listening to leftie have you. We all starch up our bedsheets and cut holes in our pillowcases and burning crosses every night remember? We are all alt right deplorables. Oppression of minorities runs right in our blood. Ask any college student and they will tell you all about the evils of white people......even if they are white themselves.
It is amazing to me how strongly the democrats try to convince (and often successfully) people with skin color other than white that they are at some HUGE disadvantage in today's world just because of their skin color. The narrative is that this privilege is so overwhelming that people of color might as well just give up. It is absolutely false that white people in general have some large, insurmountable advantage as we are told from the left. It may be that at some point in some white folks' lives they get some benefit, but it is NOT some life changing attribute.
However, there are some truly privileged people in this world, and I am not jealous of them. It is just the cards I was given. For me, even a middle class life comes only through hard work and making good decisions to live within my means. Here is a short lost of the truly privileged.
-Singers with amazing voices (born with amazing vocals)
-Professional athletes - There are just some born with almost superhuman abilities
-Geniuses - some are just smarter than others
-Professional Musicians - This is one where hard work definitely plays a role, but there are some that are gifted beyond normal skills

White privilege is a real thing. One only needs to look at one thing to know its obvious existence: marriage.
White men and women are consistently ranked as the most desirable while Asian men and black men are the least desirable.
This is true throughout world.
You know what is the ultimate privilege? Ability to pick your mate to pass on your genes simply by showing your skin color.
If you think this does not spill over to other selections such as work, school, and friends, you are out of your mind.
True. Nothing helps your situation more than committing crime, burning down your neighborhood and having businesses close down because you stole everything. It appears some of these communities are only two fires and one molotov cocktail away from prosperity.
Do a bit more research and read or at least attend a protest or talk. The looting and burning down of property is mostly done by those who are not of the community. Alot of the looting has been done by white people who attend protests as though they are helping but instead throw rocks and hide their hands. So it is your white blinders that only allows you to believe that looting is done by African Americans because you can't see those of your same skin color committing those "crimes" and the news won't show you white people looting either because they want to control the narrative and the minds of those who are too lazy to do any true reading or researching for themselves. Then you come in these forums and drop your biased, non educated opinion and those who also are too lazy to go read and research join in on smthn that began from falsified truth.
You can’t be serious? Let me guess, you also think drug laws were created to oppress blacks as well.
