It might be relevant to the charges if it's established that the cause of death was overdose of fentanyl. The fact that he may have been covid-19 positive is potentially relevant to the charges if the cop can claim the fear of exposure to covid during a pandemic was the reason he held him down away from his area of breathing.
Floyd was cuffed and not going anywhere.
Very challenging to get up from a face down position, while cuffed.
There are 28,000 +/- arrests per day, every day in the US. Imagine most contained some element of potential exposure to C-19.

The cause of death was the officer, it was a homicide. Other factors are irrelevant when you choose to keep your knee in someone's neck for several minutes after they lose consciousness and go limp.
There's literally no excuse for that act, it's second degree murder.
Why does the racist BLM claim that black lives matter when only 10 blacks were killed by cops last year and thousands upon thousands killed by other blacks with guns and poor diet.
Don’t try to change the subject. Anyway, try to explain the problem of racism with a lot of white people and other non-blacks who side with their ideology is exhausting. The truth of the matter is, I think some people simply don’t want black lives matter and want to justify the deaths of black people simply because, deep down, they probably don’t want black people to exist to begin with.

I agree the officer was sadistic and should be found guilty of at least negligent acts but there is debate even among the doctors over the cause of death which will be a subject of debate and potential doubt at trial. Again, I believe a good defense will be the cops real fear of exposure to covid was the motivation for holding his breath opposite of where the cop was breathing.
I think the problem is that in this instance, there's no valid reason to believe that racism was a factor. If you are making assumptions about a person's character or belief system based on the color of their skin.....well, then we have a conversation about racism to be had.

The effect of BLM activities is more deaths among blacks so they are effectively a White Supremacy organization....this is undeniable.
Anyone that cares about black lives will do as I noted to stay married and raise their kids to have good values, get educated, obey the law, work hard, save for the future, and adopt a good diet....if you don't do those things, you don't act like black lives matter.

Not your decision....we are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Wanting to avoid breathing from someone in custody that could be covid-19 positive during a pandemic is a reasonable fear.

That defense fails because there's no serious argument that the cause of death was anything other than homicide and any reason why you might hold someone down goes out the window once they go limp and lose consciousness.....and the officer continued for over 2 minutes after that point, even directly refusing to change positions that would have saved the man's life when the suggestion was made.
You can argue all kinds of things about the reason for the officer's actions up until the point where the man goes limp, after that, him keeping his knee in his neck was murder.
Honestly I'd vote to convict on murder 1 charges because intent is obvious and legally premeditation can occur during the first several minutes he's choking the man. Had he just adjusted his position to where he wasn't choking him using his knee in his neck, the man would have lived. A reasonable person would have known their actions would lead to the man's death.

Guilt is proven though, there's a video of what the officer did where you can see for yourself that he is committing the act of murder. We can see the approximate moment Floyd loses consciousness, and we can see the officer not care and keep choking him anyway.

You need to start with finding out what the Police Dept's protocol is for handling Covid infected suspects.
I highly doubt the instruction is to put your knee on the neck of the suspect for 8 mins. One, that endangers the officer further by keeping him within six feet of virus being exhaled from the suspect. That would seriously make no sense whatsoever.
