This is simple. Cities erected the statues. Those same cities can choose to tear them down. Charlottesville should never had to experience outside agitators I.e alt righties who were not part of the cumminity. To argue otherwise makes righties federalists.

Nope. Its unanimous, except perhaps to touring foreigners.

Any American adult or teenager for that matter, who sees a Robert E. Lee statue immediately thinks two things:

1. CIVIL WAR
2. SLAVERY

All this B.S. about states rights, economy, northerners were racist, too-- is just background noise.

Different people have different morals.

You have no idea how good or bad a person is who flies the Confederate flag. You don't even know if they hate blacks.
Gotcha. All we know is they are flying the symbol of slavers, traitors, and murderers.

I repeat the FDR memorial is more insulting to me then a Robert E Lee memorial is to you, pulling down memorials though will lead to worse things if done in a mob like, group think, anti fact way. This doesn't mean that is should not be done, but it must be done in a intelligent thought out, not mob like way.

the damage from this will be much worse than the damage of the statues up.
There's an FDR memorial? Where? I've never heard of one.

It's like the old joke: "Who is buried in Grant's tomb?"

Nobody. It's a cenotaph.

If you don't understand the difference, here read the bible

Esther - Chapter 7-4
For we have been sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish; now had we been sold for slaves and bondswomen, I would have kept silent, for the adversary has no consideration for the king's loss."
The Bible is not history. Your paeans to slavery are offensive.

You have my sympathy, you will never get my empathy.

You can't even give sympathy enough to listen to others who could be neutral and in many cases on your side.
