It's been happening for years, this is their history, and they are erasing it piece by piece. I wonder if State of Georgia employees still get Robert E. Lee's birthday off every year? I'll bet nobody's fighting to have that changed.

I used to live in Georgia. I did work for the state at one time. I would not want a day off if it was dedicated to Robert E. Lee. And I don't see any reason to celebrate him.
And get this. The majority of African-Americans are southerners. The South is where a majority of African-Americans live. I don't see African-Americans saluting Confederates or referring to the Confederate flag as part of their southern heritage. Ask yourself why that it. By the way, come up with a better answer than "Blacks are brainwashed by the left".
Removing Confederate Statues isn't going to bother me. But...could this turn into a slippery slope where next thing you know they go after George Washington simply because he owned slaves. That's what I think many white Americans worry about more than actual confederate statues.
Will Robert E Lee be deleted from all History Books, etc as well?
No he won't. He will still be mentioned in textbooks. He just won't be given public accolades. His likeness won't be displayed in public. Put his statue in a museum to show "we used to lionize idiots like this. Not anymore".

Well, this proves how racially polarizing the view on this issue is. A majority of African-Americans are southerners. I notice most African-Americans aren't complaining at all. Many are actually okay with it. Rarely do I hear a Black person say "they're gonna erase history".
The statue is being moved to some warehouse, they can at least offer it up to somebody, maybe even donate the money to some worthy cause, instead of pilfering it from the budget of public safety.
Hope they at least have the nads to move it during the day instead of the wee hours like New Orleans did.
