The cop had 17 complaints against him in the past - we have NO IDEA if they complaints were by white, black or latino people. He could be a cruel person who wasn't necessarily racist. However, we don't know yet.

By the way, other cops were Asian and one was Black. Why didn't they stop it?

Stop trying to derail the conversation by making it a race thing. I know many people in the media are doing it, but I think making it a racial argument really just trivializes the bigger problem here.

The argument you need to address is this level of police misconduct. And why do cops doing horrific things on camera and still walk around free men? Because just put yourself in that situation. Let's say you didn't have a uniform. You put your knee on a man's neck for 9 minutes. You would not be walking around free right now. Even if he wasn't in handcuffs.

We have to stop putting cops above the law. If it's a reasonable expectation that the normal citizen who does this would probably be facing jail time. Then it's also reasonable to expect a cop to be facing the same consequences

The system worked because he is in jail. Cops, at least in NYC, do face jail time for misconduct.

This is true. I remember no one having sympathy for Amber Guyger, even though the news made it as clear as they could, white cop shoots unarmed black man in his own house, but no one was going for the bait.
