My immigrant wife likes to tell a story, in the early days of her American experience she lived in Tennessee. The place she worked at had a large cafeteria. One day she was up on a balcony and looked down and all the white women were together and all the black women were together with very little mixing. Everyone got along during the work day and they got the job done but in their free time they wanted to be with people they had things in common with.
It is human nature that people separate like this.
Now there are some cities that are toying with the idea of disbanding or limiting the Police which I think will lead to No go sections in these cities. Imagine taking a wrong turn into the black section and you are white or vice versa.
In the end we are all Americans and most of us want the same things in life but there is a certain political party that would separate us and keep us divided...

What about people like me whose color says Black when I'm actually Indian (as in dot, not feather) but culturally we are more like upper middle class whites or East Asians than anything. Race is no longer about just "Black and White" (pun intended).
