An entire forum for something that has little influence on how we run and better our day to day lives?
Race tends to be a fairly prevalent aspect of existence for non-white people in America, etc.
I suppose one aspect of white privilege is not having to think about your race and/or how it can hinder you and your relationships with other people as much.
It shouldn't be this way. We can have political opinions that don't have anything to do with race-relations.
I do not know what should or should not be, given the force and influence of the conditioning of history. I suppose that in an Utopian existence, the present should not be the way that it is but the prerequisite of a Utopian present is a Utopian past. The reality, however, is that we get the present that our past created.
A separate forum would not be needed if race was an allowed topic of discussion in a sub forum. Politics and other controversies would include race and racism, it seems to me. What is a more controversial topic that race? You can talk about nothing but politics, in this sub forum, and no one is tired or angered from it. Talk about race, however, people tire of hearing...quickly.
All issues in America are not to be discussed and debated separately anymore. If you have an issue you have to talk about it indirectly through the language of politics. It has to be packaged as a problem with the "left" or problem with the "right", which is a very inefficient and mush less effective way with dealing with issues. It kind of like going to the hospital or doctor and instead of treating your specific illness or sickness, you either get the "left" treatment or the "right" treatment. In other words, two possible treatments for many different illnesses.
how many race-based topics have you started - in other words, how many total topics have you started - that were shut down before any discussion took place?
Just this week, you had 2 that went many pages that you had started within 2 days of each other.
You start topics, you don't "like" what's said, they fall down the page, you start new ones eventually.
There needs to a be a forum for this? Or should it be a "safe space" for blacks without white people posting?
And since it's you asking, you might suggest they create it as a sub-forum of Religion.
